NC Juneteenth Celebration
The annual North Carolina Juneteenth Celebration, officially sanctioned by the National Juneteenth Observance Foundation, is now a two-day event…and it has new locations! The 18th Annual North Carolina Juneteenth Celebration will take place on Saturday, June 17, 2023, from 1-10 pm, and Sunday, June 18, 2023, from 12-6 pm, in Durham, NC, presented by Spectacular Magazine and Triangle Cultural Awareness Foundation. After being held on Main Street (between Roxboro and Dillard Streets) in downtown Durham for the past 10 years, the two-day festival is moved to the Golden Belt Campus in 2022, still keeping the festival downtown.
- Opening Ceremony with a processional of dancers, drummers, and the community, followed by a presentation by the United States Colored Troops.
- Entertainment will feature national recording artists and local performers.
- Vendors will sell African and African-American clothing, art, artifacts, specialty items, crafts, and food.
- A children’s village will have games, face painting, crafts, and more.
- A health fair will include COVID testing, vaccination appointments, and health screenings.
- A fashion show will feature afro-centric and urban clothing by local designers and retailers.
- Exhibitor Booths will share information about services in the area.
